Combined MA and Ph.D Degree Design

Based on the foundation of adult-based learning, this program provides an accelerated route to earning your doctoral degree by awarding dual credit which applies to both the masters and the Ph.D.

You will complete only 6 MA courses (Major core courses) and then move directly to the comprehensive Ph.D. Your Summary and this credit will be applied toward your MA requirements. Both degrees will be awarded upon completion of all degree requirements and fulfillment of all financial obligations

  • RW 001 Trinity Tutorial – 0 credits
  • Major Core from M.A. – 18 credits – SEE LISTINGS
  • Focus Core from Ph.D. – 12 credits – SEE LISTINGS
  • PR 800 Professional Compendium – 12 credits (Dual credit awarded for M.A.)
  • RW 876 Doctoral Thesis – 12 credits
  • RW 890 Program Summary – 3 credits (Dual credit awarded for M.A.)
  • RW 991 Mission Outcomes Assessment – 0 credits

Prerequisite: Bachelor’s degree.

Total Credits Required = 57. All courses are 3 semester credit hours unless noted otherwise. Because dual credit (15 credit hours) will be awarded, the actual total number of credits earned will be 72 Credits (33 toward the MA and 39 for the Ph.D) Credits for transfer are not available for the Combined M.A. And Comprehensive Ph.D. degree.
