General B.A. Information
Prerequisite: High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not earned a degree
from an appropriately accredited institution where English is the principal language of
instruction must receive a minimum score of 500 on the paper-based Test of English as
a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or 61 on the Internet based TOEFL, or its equivalent.
Total Credits Required = 120. A minimum of 30 credits must be earned at Trinity
consisting of 15 Bible Core credits and 15 Major Core credits. All courses are 3
semester credit hours unless noted otherwise. A maximum of 90 credits may be
satisfied via transfer credits or a combination of transfer credit and Undergraduate
Portfolio or Credits by Examination. However, the combined credits for Undergraduate
Portfolio or Credits by Examination cannot exceed 30 credits. Courses may be taken in

Major in Biblical Counseling
Purpose: To acquaint learners with an overview of Biblical Studies oriented toward
helping fellow Christians respond to trials for God’s glory so that they can grow through
the experiences and be agents of change in the local church or other Christian
institutions.
Learning Outcomes:
- Learners will identify the main themes of redemptive history running throughout the
Scriptures, culminating in the ministry of Jesus Christ, and relate them to the
practice of counseling.
- Learners will describe how glorifying God and serving His purposes distinguishes
Biblical Counseling from other models of counseling.
- Learners will explain the fundamental role of counseling in the local church.
- Learners will develop the skills needed for effectively working with people in distress.
- Learners will describe the contributions of important psychologists whose views
have shaped American culture.

Purpose: To build leadership competencies to be used in discipling, equipping, and
team building ministries and to acquire the ability to: understand, plan, organize, and
administrate a church or para-church organization; facilitate small group development
and multiplication; and apply team ministry skills in a variety of multiple staff contexts.
